Sources and how the data is used

Every regulatory fact on this site comes from data published by a national medicines authority. This page names the source of the catalogue published today and explains what Home Med Cabinet adds on top of it.

The source of the published catalogue

The Spanish catalogue on this site comes from CIMA, the online medicines information centre of the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (AEMPS), Spain’s medicines regulator. Medicine names, registration numbers, packs and their national codes, active ingredients as declared, marketing status and the links to official documents are all read from it.

Home Med Cabinet

Added by Home Med Cabinet

Our own work, marked as ours wherever it appears. None of it is a statement by the authority.

  • one identity per active substance, gathering the records that name it
  • pharmaceutical forms grouped into a short list of readable categories
  • one availability line per medicine, summarized from the status of its packs
  • search, page layout, and the translation of the interface around the data

Official documents open on the authority’s own site. This site links to them and hosts no copy.

Two different dates

Source cards and medicine pages can show two dates. They answer different questions.

Updated
A date the authority itself publishes for its record. Where the authority publishes none, the page says so; no other date is put in its place.
Synchronized
When Home Med Cabinet last read the data from the authority. It says how recent this copy is, not when the authority last changed the record.

A medicine’s regulatory status can change after the last synchronization. The authority’s own record is the reference.
